Hi All,

I'm looking at upgrading us from our old "DCS" aka DCS 200 system to an iDCS 500 I bought some time ago. The main reasons I wanted to upgrade to the iDCS 500 was;

- Possible VOIP path
- Caller ID on SLI Ports

I'm a little confused what the system actually is as the KSU is labelled as an iDCS 500 but the Smartmedia card in the MCP2 is OfficeServ 2.37 (Software)

Does this make it an iDCS 500 or an OfficeServ 500 unit - Or is it the same difference?

Basically looking around the main question I have is

Caller ID on the SLI ports.

I've already worked out I need the RCM card mounted on the MCP2 card, but do I need the 16MWSLI card to get CID on the SLT ports? Or can I use an existing 8MWSLI card from an old system?

Additionally, I have also read you need the iDCS 500 R2 model - I have no idea if mine is an R2 but I do know the MMC300 for CID to SLT is not there.

Anyone that may have gotten one of these systems going I would appreciate any info.

The iDCS 500 and OfficeServ 500 are the same unit, just a slight name change by Samsung. The release is based on the processor, so your MCP2 would be an R2.

If I am remembering correctly, for CID to SLT, you need a newer version of software. The latest version for the 500 series is 2.76b and is available from GSBN.

Just a note, to get CID to SLT, you also need an RCM2 card. It does work on an old 4 port SLI, and the 8 port 8SLI cards for sure as I have tried it. If you have version 2.76A or newer, you can use a CRM card from a 7400 instaed of an RCM2. As a note, It also sends CID info for internal calls and even sends the station names programmed in MMC 104. Pretty cool in my book. Good Luck

interesting note about the 7400, do you know whether this is the same as the 7200 RCM board?

Yes they are the same. But I believe you are talking about the CRM not the RCM.
