I have a dcs compact that will not let me set up external forwarding on a phone in operator group 500. the customer used to be able to do this. when you set the forwarding and call in the line rings for the preset time and then the next line begins and the first one stops..... this goes on until it reaches the fax line and the fax picks it up.

I don't think we are on the same page here.
Forwarding on a phone in group 500 does not happen. The system will not allow it.
What you might be saying is that when a call comes in it rings the first extension then rolls to the next extension and finally the fax.
That is setting up group 500 to "sequential ringing" instead of "unconditional"

no the system picks up the next co line and after it transfers the call to it it drops the first line. the stations are all still ringing. the dcs will not allow me to change the group ringing for group 500.
