Logging in to the terminal I am able to see it is revision 12A, do I need to use VMMI to copy the db over to the pc or can I use a terminal emulator program

At version 12A you can use either VMMI or a VT100 Terminal emulation program. VMMI is much easier to use that VT100 programming.

If I use VMMI it's pretty straight forward in importing a database over? We believe we have a bad board and have a newer board with a newer revision but when plugging it in and swapping the memory to the board the phones wouldn't come on. I was reading that we could import our old software on the new board and just wanted some clarification on this process. Thanks for all the replies.

Using VMMI you can save databases and convert them for later releases.
