I have a marketing person who moves between two offices and would like to have 1 voice mail account.

We are running an a centralized SVMI-20E voicemail system for all the offices. Both Phone Systems are OS7200 with a link between them.

I tried forwarding her mailbox 3127 to her other mailbox 3216 and setting the MW 3126 flag on the 3127 phone. The system forwards the message but doesn't light the extension at 3127 with the MW 3216 button. I believe this is because the extension doesn't exist on the phone system where 3127 resides.

Ideally I would like both VMMSG buttons to light. However, I know we don't live in a perfect world. I am tempted to send the messages to her email via the gateway and have her listen to it on her computer.

Any ideas or help is appreciated.

The best way to achieve your goal is going to be with hot desking. You'll need to use ITP keysets to accomplish this but basically what would happen is the user would log into the phone and their exetnsion will follow them. The General Description for the OS7200 describes the process. If you aren't sure about incorperating this solution you'll need to have a dealer help you, if you're not one.

It's also called Idle Login. If you have the OS7200 User Instructions document look on page 37 and it will tell you how to set the phone up.

MW keys don't work across network systems (unfortunately).

So unless your going to setup a list mailbox with both extensions in it, your best off using the ip phone log out method described above

Would station pair work across the network? I have never tried it over SPnet.

Do you mean using the extn login on the new SMT phones as the old style itp phones do not seem to have it?

Or depending on the release you might be able to use the mobility option. Mobex. With PRI or SIP trunks. Just throwing that out there.

More and more people are expecting to get their voicemail via email to their smart phones.

You have 5 free voicemail to email licenses so you might ask if that would be something they would like.

They could still call in and get the messages, delete them, etc.

The ITP51xx series do support the login feature, you just need the right firmware version, latest is 3.37.
you may need to factory reset after this like you do for the auto registration via mac address and dhcp feature

I ended up using the voicemail to email option as that was the cheapest way to fix the problem. In my budget request for next year, I will put in two IP phones.
