HI, I have a twin cabinet 7030 with the maximum 8 channels of mgi licensed, also have 6 remote IP phones the system is on 4.41 , also have sip lines , now everthing is registered however I can only make 2 calls from the IP handsets with speech , I then have to make another 4 without speech before the 2 with speach cycle round again , I understand that this is due to each chassis having 4 mgi channels licensed each,I have a draytech vigor router and REALLY need some help on the port forwarding, at present I have ports 30000 to 30032 open on the firewall to the master cabinet IP address , Samsung have a document relating to this for the mgi 16 but it is about as clear as mud, I think I need to route some ports through the firewall to the slave cabinet IPAddress , but I have tried a few different combinations and cannott clear the fault, can anybody out this in laymans terms for me , the other intersting thing I have noticed is that the first chassis. Only has 2 mgi channels assigned even if I number the blank 2 channels that are in the numbering plan MMC 724 the system overrides these and presents the slave chassis with the remaining 6 MGI channels this seems strange but may just be a red herring , however it ties in with the fact I can only make 2 calls that are ok before the 4 without speech . PLEASE HELP!!

I haven't done the 7030 dual cabinet so I'm just guessing here. First I wonder if Samsung support has been contacted and if so what their response has been. If remote IP stations are initially reaching the system I would think that the Firewall is not the issue. Have you done any allocation between SIP trunks and IP stations in the system? Are you making an outbound call on a Sip trunk from these remote stations? Have you tried calling to an internal station? different results at all?

Yes to all and it is the same scenario,2 good calls and then 4 without speech,it is the NAT port redirection to the two ip addresses that is the issue but how to set it upis anyones guess!

Try routing ports 30000-30004 to the master cab and ports 300005-300012 to the slave. I think the reason it rotates is the MGI groups are set up as distributed instead of sequential.

thankyou that worked , however now the Sip numbers are not following the DDI table in 714 the sip trunks are set to follow the DDI table but no matter how many digits i enter in the table it always rings the operator group , the invite format on the sip lines is set to national DDI by the provider who is voice flex and is supported by samsung in the UK , i have tried changing the invite format to sip account, then international ddi (with 44**********) in the ddi table but with no luck any ideas!!

If you have MPS enabled (it is by default) you will need to forward the 40000-40031 ports to the system ip, otherwise you may have speech issues on the ip phones.
When the phone in the operator group rings, what digits are displayed on the bottom line of the LCD? this will tell you what you need to put in the DID table.
I'm intrigued as to the why the forwarding some ports to the slave cabinet worked, as i have never been able to communicate with the slave cabinet via ip directly from the network (doesn't respond to ping or IT Tool)

The OPM card has an ethernet switch on it and one of the three link cables carries the network between the two cabinets. (This is also why the OPM has to be fitted if you want to use the 4SWM card).

Do you have the IP address of the slave cabinet correctly entered in the system programming? And of course they are both in the same subnet?
This can only be done with the cabinets seperated and running as individual main cabinets. Set the first cabinet with IP address's 1 for main and 2 for slave, then on the second cabinet set 2 as master and 1 as slave, with subnet mask and gateway settings same for both. Then hook back up together and fire them back up.
Not sure if this is how you did it, but I had a similar problem and discovered I had set the main and slave IP's in the second cab wrong.
Good lluck and let us know how you go.
