Hi,
We have an 816 that has worked fine for years but we want to get a little more out of it if possible.

When we leave the office at 5pm, we put the system into Night service which forwards all calls to a mobile number.

I would like to do the same during office hours but would like to use a different number.

Is it possible to have two buttons programmed with separate numbers on the same phone?

Thanks...

You need to change the number on the phone you are using as you only have two des day and night on the 816 smile

Hi Gerrya,
I'm not sure I understand what you mean...

We have four 12-LCD phones and one of them is set up as the reception phone. We use this to put the system into Night service so that any/all calls into the business are diverted to a mobile number after hours. We can't change this, as we use this every night and during the day at weekends.

I would like to duplicate this setup (using the same phone or one of the other three phones) with the only difference being that another number is used for the divert/forwarding.

Can this be done, if yes, how would I program it?

Many thanks.

I've managed to find the MMC number to program one of the 12 buttons but I'm not sure which abbreviation to choose to create FWD External button.

Is it FAUTO?

No FAUTO is a Forced Auto Answer button. It would be a FWD button with an extension 1-all,2-busy,3-no answer ect.. No you can not have 2 forward all buttons on the same phones.

Hi bmreen,
Ok, I'm using a different phone and trying to program button 9 using the MMC 7** function.

My station number is 215 which is shown in the top left hand corner, I can tab through and choose button 09 and then tab into the area where I can pick a function.

When I press the S key, I can only access SMGT - how do I scroll to SPD?

Thanks.

Please ignore my last post. I discovered the volume keys! wink

I've set this button to FWRD5 now but I'm not sure how to program a number for it to forward to. Any suggestions?

Thanks...

I've now programmed the button forward all calls to the external number.

This works fine if anyone rings my direct dial number but not if they ring any other numbers. The current night service works great, as all calls are forwarded to a mobile phone.

It would be great if I could add another 'FWD External' button to that phone so that we could have a choice where to point the calls to.

If this can't be done, how do forward all incoming calls using my phone and the new button?

Many thanks...

Why not use the call forward feature from the CO during the day (i.e. 72# or *72 here in the U.S.)?

I don't really want to set something up with our phone co. (BT!) as it will be an additional expense whereas tweaking our system should be free...

I know what I'm looking for can be done on the 816 as I've been quoted £100 for an engineers visit. Maybe I should pay them the money and have it done quickly but I begrudge paying that amount of money for a few minutes button pressing wink

I forgot to mention, we have a block of 20 DDI's and I think each one would need to be set up on a divert if we used BT.

So, any suggestions on how I could set up call diversion to two different external numbers?

Thanks in advance...

Thanks for the PM Scott, I found the MMC number and managed to program a button with a FWD5 to an external number.

However, the diversion only works when somebody rings my phone and not the entire range of DDI's.

The other phone with the Night service on works perfectly but I don't know how it has been set up frown

The newer systems allow 6 ring plans but the 816 only has day and night. The work around would be to set the day service to 1 extension and control forwarding in day from that station.

So only the one phone would ring in 'Day' mode?

Apologies for all the questions but I'm one of those that needs everything explaining in detail smile

"security"

When someone calls the office system, do they have one main phone number?

Does that main phone number ring to a GROUP or just to a single station?

Hi Sam,
Calls coming in to the office system go to a group and all 4 phones ring at the same time.

Thanks...
