Dialing zero on the intercom usually reaches the main attendant station.

Programming phone systems isn't something that is typically afforded to just anyone due to the expense that manufacturers/dealers endure in protecting the quality of the systems. If it was common knowledge, then untrained people would be crashing systems left and right and blaming the hardware.

Seriously, would any of us here dare try to repair a malfunctioning flat screen television or give ourselves a gastric bypass? I doubt it.

No offense intended, but if you need to ask how to identify the attendant's station, do you really think that you should be attempting technician-level programming?

On the DX-80 you can make programming changes from any digital extension.

In order to make all phones ring, you generally have to know how to set up a UCD....when you get more phones ringing...it's just easier to do it that way from a programming standpoint. If it's just a few phones, program the answering position using a phone to program. If you're doing some substantial programming, though---you need to get the correct software that matches the CPU software and go ahead and use a laptop.

Ed makes some good points. Have you at least bought a manual yet??

If you have the manual, you have all the info you need. Do you have a more specific question not answered in the manual?
