We have an IDCS500. We have the SVMI-20 card with the 4 port Modem/Fax card installed.
We have 328 employees.
We have 400 DID phone numbers to assign for fax numbers.
I have installed the Unlimited Gateway License.
Now which manual has the instructions for setting this up?
Or does someone have a cheat sheet in setting up the FAX to eMail feature.
Right now, I have setup where a fax comes in and I point that DID number to an employee's extension, but the phone-voicemail answers and the person at the other end of the fax hear's voice answering...
How do I get JUST the fax to pick up the call, when it is a FAX call?

Thanks everyone.

The fax daughter card only provides 1 fax port.
The Voicemail will auto detect fax tones and go into fax receive mode.

1) In addition, you also need to create & upload a text file (call it fax.txt) in C:\Dta\fax.txt This txt file will direct/delineate each DID fax number to the appropriate / corresponding voicemail box. Please note that when you do this the text must be EXACTLY correct (upper lower case etc) or the faxes will not route properly. (Assume fax dnis 3095 goes to mbox 218 which belongs to: 'Smith, Sandy')

The text file must look something like:
3095 Goto MBX Smith, Sandy
3094 Goto MBX Jones, Jenny

(Again it is IMPERATIVE That the text 'Smith, Sandy' is an EXACT match to what's in the Subscriber list.)

2) Then in the Fwd Station / Fwd Trunk menus you must put a routing that calls coming from 3??? (if the DNIS is 3xxx) go File PTR and the name of the text file (i.e. fax.txt).

3) The DID fax numbers in MMC 714 must be directed to the SVMi station group number.

Thank you!

What birdlady710 says is correct except for point 3.

You should point the DID to 1 port of the VM (and preferably take this port out of the VM group).

Since the SVMi only has 1 fax receive port, putting it to the group will cause you to get wav files with fax tones for the 2nd fax call in, rather then the tiff file.

I have not used the text file. I have a site where I direct the DID to VM then in the VM Menu I set forward DID to ??? and create the mailbox to match the DID.I also do not seperate the VM ports and have never had a fax tone get delivered to a mailbox.

Thanks everyone for the information.

Wake... my question is..

I have 150 DID fax lines for 150 employees.
in MMC714 I can point the 150 DID lines coming in to where ever we wish.
If I point to the VM as you suggest, which is ext: 549, Is there a place to put the 150 did lines coming in to the 549, so each DID line points to a different MBX, so each employee get's his fax emailed to him by the eMail Gateway?

thanks for your ideas..

In your forward trunk menu you set it to search for ??? to Srch MBX. Make the mailbox the same as the DID. Example if my DID's are 1500 thru 1599 i would set 15?? Srch MBX 01 and create mailboxes 1500 thru 1599. Remember the SVMI will only see the last 4 digits of the DID if your are using more than that in 714.
