I just installed a Samsung door phone outside of building. Electrician provided conduit thru block wall to surface mount oudoor pvc double gang box. Door phone is mounted to box but im concerned water will cause damage. I was thinking of caulking around edge but that could get ugly. Wondering what anyone is doing to protect from elements.

Tomorrow I am installing a VIP-172L and a VIP-811 from Valcom for a customer that has a wireless extended network to another building that is about 200 yards away. will let you know how it turns out. I try to remember to take pictures to post here.
I do have the Valcom speaker 1030c on a VIP_801 to the building now and works good(not great) but very good. Also, have 4 ITP phones at the building as well.

We just use the regular Samsung door box but take it apart and use tubes of waterproofing stuff from the 99 cent store.
The goo is not electrically conductive and it prevents any corrosion.
Learned that about 1985 when I put in Tie Paragon door boxes that would corrode.
The stuff stinks a bit until it dries but you never have to replace them due to corrosion, they even work fine on beach homes that are a killer to phone equipment.

Thanks Hop Along Blond Bunnie, I like the dollar store solution. Kind of goes with the economy.
