We have a 7200 MP20 v4.51 that stops talking to a programming PC on site with that message.

Thought it was a bad MP20 so we swapped it out. Problem stayed. I guess we need to tell the account we suspect their data switch.

Can you plug in a laptop directly and not have it screw up? That would be the proof.

That was tricky. Plugging a laptop in with a crossover get the link status message BUT not after the system is reset. Once it starts doing that, you are locked out where you change to a direct cable or not.

I set up the old MP20 at our office with the same DB and there is no issue so far.

I think it is the site switch doing all of this, and no, it isn't a MAC address reservation causing it on the second one.

Typical headaches, just take time ....

Bunnie, as you know back in the old days it would have been a Samsung issue (haha). In the last 3-4 years, issues like this are rarely a Samsung problem but something else.

When I have issues like this I am ever so happy that all-IP phone systems are only about 5% of what we install.

Replaced the MP20, replaced the local switch and connected to their main switch - problem is back (with NEW MP20 and switch connection).
