I have a claim from a client saying they get calls from our phone system.

"When I turned my phone on this morning I discovered that I had received two calls from the XXXX voicemail system around 3am. It said that there were voicemails for me at extension 2711. I think back in 2008 or 2009 you may have set up an extension for me during one of our projects, so I'm guessing that this is what the call was from. Since it was at 3am on new years, I'm guessing that it's not a real client call. Plus, a month or two ago when I got a voicemail call, it was also at 3am. I'm guessing that it's an automated voicemailbox reminder, or something like that.

No hurry on this, but sometime in January can you please check extension 2711, and remove the forwarding and any other reference to my cell "

There is not forward on extension 2711 in MMC 102. Is there another place that could trigger this?

Which phone system and voice mail system?

Check the 2711 mailbox, not the MMC. Look for the out calling phone number in the list. Remove any numbers.

In my experience 3am is when the VM does it's scheduled maintenance.

Are they legitimate messages and who are they from?

OS 500

I deleted the mailbox through the phone tree and re-added it. The system is not local and the person who set it up did not give the VM an IP. I guess someone could attach a serial cable to it.

The messages are what is described in the post above. It is like the VM system calling to notify that there are new message in the box.

I understand your above post. The customers description is vague.

Through the phone tree? Needs to be done through the VM system its self.

If you can't be on site, call into the VM and change the settings in mailbox 2711 or through the admin. mailbox.

You need to turn the out bound message notification off on the mailbox.

I'm guessing it's an SVMI voice mail.

Check out the below users guide. Look at Mailbox Administration and then under that menu look at Message Alert.
