Electrical tape over the buttons. You can still press the button to make a call to that extension but it won't light up.

When we install a new system the customer sees the lights flashing and freaks out. Just like the different ring tone you need to tell them to get used to it in a nice way. To bad Samsung couldn't address this.

The 7100 is doing exactly what it is supposed to do.
The DSS/BLF button is supposed to be a one touch button (Direct Station Selection) for intercom AND show the status (Busy Lamp Field) of an extension.
Solid shows it is busy or in DND mode, off shows it is available, and blinking shows that it has a call ringing (imagine if you wanted to do a call pickup.)
I am the first one to pick on Samsung when they screw something up and that has certainly happened before, but in this case the 7100 button for DSS/BLF is simply doing exactly what it was intended to do, show the STATUS of that extension.
And, the DSS/BLF buttons are certainly useful in determining how many phones could potentially answer a call (not that anyone may be sitting there to pick up the call.)
Customers will always question something different, just have to tell them it is SUPPOSED to work that way, other people NEED it to work that way, BE HAPPY.
Thanks, Bunnie

I suppose another option if they are insistant on not seeing the buttons flash is that instead of making these button DS buttons, that you instead make them speed dial buttons.
