Hi Everyone,

Has anyone got any hints on getting a SMT-W5100E setup with a OS500 ?

I do not have the SMT-R2000, was advised it wasn't required but can't get the unit to talk.

I have the phone setup on static details, with a IP, MCP IP address and gateway / sub set as per the network. Its connecting to an open wifi network called PHONE that I currently have only mac address filtering turned on so no security issues (in the short term)

I don't think the OS500 supports static WIP ip address's.

This was added to the OS7000 in V4.21 software.

You will need to program the ip's that you want the handsets to use into the require MMC on the system and set the phone to use system DHCP.

Update, so there must have been something wrong with the billion AP, change to an Apple one and the thing connects to the wifi network and is accessible via a web browser before becoming unregistered.

If i do static, it remains connected to the AP for about 30 secs, if I do DHCP it just seems to connect for a second and no more. Can the DHCP however find the MCP/MGI card on its own?
I've tried setting the the static setting in the phone system to enable and disable but no luck. Any other suggestions, not forgetting there is no SMT-2000 or WBS card in the play.. Is it possible the W5100 just needs a firmware update? The DCS 500 is on 2.75 and the phone is 01.03.06

Thats very old firmware on the handsets, latest is 1.8.4 I think.

Have you set the access point type to dual on the 500? if your planning to use DHCP from your network then don't enter any ip's in the wip ip address MMC.

You also need to make sure that everything is on the same ip range.

Everything is in the same IP subnet, Yes, the Access point is set to DUAL in the MMC, I'll try removing the WIP IP addresses and see if there is any change. How can I go about updating the FW thou if it won't stay connected long enough to the WIFI network?
