Hi guys.
Can anyone offer advice or suggestions for linking a 7000 series system and an Asterisk voip solution ?.
I know there are a few options via traditional PSTN connections but I would like to focus on connection via SIP trunking.

This is for our own office at the minute for testing and seeing what functionality we can get out of it.

Any good or bad stories are welcome and any configs are more than welcome and can be PM or emailed.

Any other Samsung houses looked at Asterisk seriously as an add on to an existing system or as a complete replacement to more traditional systems ?.

Looked at it played with it, but nothing serious. Still looking for the time to do more. I too would like to hear more.

I have done it from OS7200 (MCP) 4.30 software with no issues.
Setup as per normal for sip trunks in the samsung, can't help with the asterix side as that was done by the asterix guy remotely

Use it for testing pre-carrier sip testing, easy setup. lighter setup (name\ secret) works good! have access to both end this way and know that my port will go smooth.

I did it configuring the SIP extension settings on the asterisk PBX, as if it was a carrier configuration.

Use the MMC842 setting to configure the asterisk machine.
