We are planning our first fax server installation behind a 7000-series (7400).

It is understood that the SLIs connected to the fax server are to repeat the DTMF last digits of the DID number called.

This is accomplished by programming up a non-Samsung voice mail hunt group where the 7400 will pass the DTMF of the last part (in this case, last 4 digits) on the DID number.

Then the 4 digit number equals a 'mailbox' pointed to a person's email address.

What we are not sure about is whether or not virtual extensions and their forwards need to be involved like some have said here in other posts. Can the VM group be set up to repeat digits on a direct calls w/o the virtuals? That would be easier.

Does anyone have an MMC cheat sheet as to what needs to be programmed in terms of timing, VM ports, etc?

We would rather not do the usual 'hit and miss' on this one and program it correctly the first time.

If so, please PM me. MMCs aren't allowed in this open forum.

Thanks a lot.

Very happy with SilentFax. Had it running with faxes within an hour. Simple to setup and use. Easily integrated with 7400 SLI ports.

I should have added in the last post (too late to edit) that it is NOT necessary to set up virtual exts in order to get the SLI connections to repeat the last four digits of the DID number called. Factory timers on the SilentFax and the OS7400 did not have to be adjusted either.
