We recently did a an upgrade of the card version on our MCP card on the officeserv 7200. The upgrade didn't go all that smoothly and we were unable to restore the previous database all at once (had to do it in sections because it kept timing out). Two days later the phone system restarted itself around 6:00-6:15 in the morning. Two days after that the phone system did the same thing (all phones go blank and when the system comes back up the version numbers come on the phone before the system reinitalizes). So far my local vendor is stumped and I am looking for any help I can get. Here is a bit more info on the system we have..

Officeserv 7200

Main Cabinet
MGI16 - 07.10.08 V1.20
16DLI2
8COMBO2
SVMI-20E - 07.03.26 V5.00
TEPRI - 08.06.05 V4.24
MCP - 10.05.03 V4.46d

Second Cabinet
8DLI
16DLI2
LCP - 09.04.29 V4.17

Any help would be really appreciated.

You say you did a upgrade have you defaulted the system and reprogrammed the system i would program from scratch seems you might have a bad database if it still has problems you could buy a new card with latest sofeware all ready on it

In my opinion you need to get rid of the MCP in favor of an MP20 running 4.53c. The MCP is a dog.

Save the MCP database and then you can do copy/pastes manually over to the installed MP20 for most of the data.

If you can't do that then take the MCP back to 4.30. That is the last version that seemed to run trouble free on an MCP. Data will need to be entered manually.

When upgrading the MCP if you went from a software ver pre-V4.30 and did not go to 4.30 before continuing forward that is your problem.

Thanks Noisycow. I may upgrade to the MP20 from the MCP. Do you think that it is worth the money?

I have a copy of the backed up database before we did the upgrade can I use that database to reinstall or will we need to rekey everything?

Yes, it is worth the money. The MCP was never up to par processor-wise in my opinion. Especially for a 2-cab system or a networked site.

You can probably use your save. Go to 4.30 before going all the way to 4.53c
