i have a 7100, it is networked with 2 other sites. this site is only one having this issue.
i have one phone that typically overnight (but sometimes during day) shows up with 40+ messages.
you go into vm and it gives you prompt to tell you how many msg you actually have (ie 1,2 or none)-
as soon as you exit, light clears as does display.
here is what i have done so far to tblshoot:
1. turn off msg options on all systems in 701
2. delete/recreate ext and mb
3. replace phone
4. replace cpu twice
5. replace media card twice
6. reprogram by hand (no upload) twice
7. upload program from saved copy twice
8. replace cpu twice
9. replace entire cabinet and all cards
10. move phone to another cable in same office
11. move cable to another office in building
12. new jack on ph end/new crimp on KSU end
13. new base cord
14. swap with another phone (issue follows phone)
15. switch to different port on system - renumber
16. run totally new shielded cable diffrent route
17. scream yell curse
it is a 7100 4.53c mp10a

would love for someone to throw me a bone on where to go next - spoken to every level of tech support at samsung from high to low and for the last 5 months, they have no idea - they insist it is message cue happening - which is odd since it happens when they are closed and nobody there with alarm set, but i did buy a guard dog and post him there to try and catch mastermind who is sneaking in and doing it --
help!

What is the exact message on the display of the keyset in question also are there any mw keys or vg keys programmed on the key set. What type of keyset is this.

Is this centralized vm or standalone. Dont know your setup on site, but have you tried a telnet to the vm, turn on the vm cli and capture all the data? Do the logs on the VM show anything? Just throwing out some ideads.

Look in all the Vmail datbases to make sure that they do not have mailboxes that are not assoicated to that node. ie if node one is 2001 make sure that 2001 is not a mailbox in any other node othewise this will cuse exactley what you are seeing.

the message is the exact same as if you actually had (example) "40 new messages"
blinking light and the whole works-
when you access mb, it verbally announces how many messages you actually have, then you can play/save/delete them successfully - and light goes out -
the phone is a ds-4021d
this is a local vm - not centralized
have not done telnet session - i have looked at activity and error and user logs - nothing there
did ck to see in mmc724 if duplicate ext built - didnt see anything - will get into actual vm today and look to make sure no duplicates

oops after further review - the ph is a DS-5021 not a "4021"
