Ran diagnostics on a DX80 and had a CPM fail. RS232 #2 failed because nothing was plugged in it. However I also got a ROM fail on the CPM. Any ideas what problem(s) this might cause?

Don't think I ever had a CPM pass and I just ran the test on an F42! My ROM passed though!

So....is the system working normally, otherwise? What software chips do you have in this system?

I remember that this happened to me a few times and I just ignored it......sort of what I do with a lot of things these days.

It is F40. The customer is complaining of dropped calls. Telco has already been out and according to the customer "fixed something" that should have alleviated the problem. The dropped call problem is still there. It is intermittent, which means it was not going to happen when I was there testing. With only 5 phones typically only one of the users will experience a dropped call, although once the customer said two people were on outside calls with a third line on hold when all three calls dropped simultaneously. Next time this happens they are to make sure the displays are still on (system resetting?) and check the status of the line key (still lit?). I did a system test for giggles and had this ROM failure. I don't know if it has anything at all to do with the dropped calls. I wouldn't think so, and there are still some unanswered questions before jumping to a CPM problem.

If and when a call drops, have them punch up the line button that dropped to see if a "No Loop Current" displays.
