I have a customer that is running some audio over a 5E cable that can not be replaced. He is asking me what the DC risistance is on the cable at 100 feet.

24 gauge wire has is about 19 feet per ohm so 100 feet would be a little over 5 ohms resistance. We be just slightly higher with CAT5 due to twist of wire.

You can put an audio transformer on each end to boost voltage so you don't get the power loss
use standard 70 volt transformer and put the 70 volt side at each end of wire one 8 ohm winding would go to amp output and the other to the speaker. depending on the transformer quality you will lose bass response or use balun transformers and run aux level audio with amp at other end

I take it you mean speaker level audio?

Try to avoid the twists. For example; if you need stereo signal, use the white/blue pair for (-) and the white/orange pair for (+) for the left channel. Use the white/green (-) and the white/brown for (+) on the right channel.

If you only require one mono speaker, double up again on those spare pairs.
