If you contracted this out you should have a price. Mark it up as you see fit.

What is the contractor charging you? Assuming he knows what he is doing, you need to atleast pass this cost on.

Quick question: what are the different names for the 66 blocks, one kind having two sets of pins facing one another and being discontinuous, and the other kind having one set of pins facing a different direction being continuous with the other three sets? 4 co's to 10 four line phones without a switch? Sounds like a cross connected catastrophe in the making. I guess it depends on how the co's are brought in but my noobie brain hurts just thinking about it.

J2tel, if you have a new question it's a good idea to start a new post. What you're doing here is hijacking the original post. As for your question, one is a 25pair block and the other is 50 pair. There will also be different part numbers, but I'm not sure if that's what you're after. I'm not aware of any 'names' being used beyond part numbers and pair capacity. Of course I live in BIXland, so I would be out of the loop. You might want to look at the product information on the manufacturer sites, ie: https://www.suttleonline.com/cct_66blks_blocks.html Feel free to start a new post if you want to get the attention of installers who actually deal with 66 blocks.

I didnt feel it was a big enough question to start a new a post. It is a 'thread' after all. Someone correct me if Im wrong but I dont think were supposed to discuss rate info in the public forums. Denver if you still need help determining an appropriate fee, a private message to any of these kind folks is probably the way to go.

the 66 block with two independent sets of pins facing each other is known as a split 66 block, 66-M150. These allow for 50 pairs to be terminated, in a one-for-one correlation. One pair goes in and one pair goes out. The block with one set of clips going one way and three going the opposite way is a 66M1-25 block, which allows one pair in and three pairs out. Hope that helps! Jeff

You're correct on the pricing, he isn't advertising his pricing so it's kind'a grey, but still would hurt to edit it out. As far as the blocks go what Clinton said. 66 XX XX there were different sizes and the link he profided shows some. I doubt I could name them all the M1 50 is the one you discribed and is probably the most common now. There were B,C and E the letter had to do with the number of pins in the row and the number on the end was the number of feed pairs it would handle, 12, 25 and 50 were the most common.

Heh, heh. Think that's bad? I had some cheap you-know-whats awhile back that actually wanted TWO four line phones on about 6 desks. :bang: :bang: :bang:
