Walter,
I've cabled schools that had remote trailers for classrooms. What I would do is run a couple of OSP 25pr C5E cables through the UG conduit and then terminate those onto a 110 block. I'd then run 4pr C5E cables from the 110 block to the station location. The 110 block served as a transition point (TP).
This is certainly within the standards.

-Hal Actually, copper will work just as well as multimode fiber as a backbone link as long as it is within distance. If you are running a 1GbE backbone link you could install an enhanced CAT-5E cable that would do just fine. Now, even 10GbE can be run over CAT-6A cable. Fiber is the BEST choice for backbone runs, but isn't a necessity for LAN application unless distance of the link is copper-prohibitive. Of course, with fiber comes the need for optical tranceivers in the switching hardware.

The higher frequency with CAT-6 (250MHz)causes more induction under the jacket than lower frequency CAT-5/5e (100MHz).

I was told that you could not truly scan a run thru a 25pr-6runs because for power sum near end cross talk scan and power sum far end crosstalk scans, you can only inject signal into 3 of the other pairs, in in a real situation there would be signal on 11 or 23 other pairs depending on how it was used.

I think that ceiling box would really help me with a situation I have, but does any one have any idea what it costs? I can't even seem to find a part number.

Thanks, That's a little steep, but considering that TWA marks everything up like @200% I think there is a good chance of finding it (too expensive) . Which isn't really all that bad considering a 19" chatworth rack can go for around (half that)with wire management. Corwyn (Wholesale pricing in public forums deleted per terms of service.)

Superior Essex makes a 25 pair Cat-5e and they also make a "bundled" Cat-6. However, I agree with Hal - use fiber with good media converters.
