I am having to restructure the cabling layout for one of my clients. The problem I am having is with the DSL. It begins in the downstairs phone closet runs from the demarcation point to a 66 block then goes upstairs to a second 66 block where it runs to a DSL splitter. I tried to follow the previous working installation since we were just moving the location of the cabling but I cannot seem to get the DSL signal to work. I get dial tone at the 1st floor 66 block and all the way to the DSL SPLITTER but I cannot seem to get the DSL signal once at the SPLITTER. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG ????? I have created a diagram of the layout which you can see here https://www.datalogistix.net/cabling/dsl_layout.jpg Please advise. I can also if necessary run a single cable from the downstairs 1st floor 66 block direct to the DSL splitter. The total run will be about 150 feet. AT&T DSL is just one pair correct?

If you have a punch tool, take the dsl modem to 2nd flr. 66 block ,punch a pair of wires to a jack and plug modem in to see if link up occurs,If not do same at 1st 66 block. You might need to use another pr. between 66 blocks or last 66 block and customer eq. I recently had same problem in 8 story office building. John

Test your cable pairs. Change the splitter. DLS only uses one pair. Have you checked the line (number) to make sure you have the correct dial tone jumpered?

As jacktel & cracker state. As well, if you have a spare modem, try that. I carry one on the truck just to prove whether or not I'm getting the signal. Might not be your problem afterall.

I cannot seem to get the DSL signal once at the SPLITTER. eliminate the "splitter " run the dsl directly to the modem or better yet get somebody experienced to troubleshoot for you .
