I don't add a lot of comments on this board, but I try to read the posts and the comments at least twice a day. I had read here that if you use a spinner when pulling cable down cable tray it prevents the cable from getting twisted. Just finished installing basket tray and used a spinner, when pulling cable, man what a difference. Didn't have restring the tray. Thanks for the comment. Thanks for all the in put here GREAT PLACE to LEARN.

I have searched all over the internet trying to find others in our field to chat with and this is by far the best site out there. Everyone I talk to is friendly and helpful. It is nice to see so many other techs that care about their work like I do!!

My guess would have been a swivel that is used for fishing so that the drag line's natural twist as it's being pulled wouldn't twist the cable(s). Maybe I am wrong in such an assumption, but it makes sense.

What a great idea, :bang: We used 2 "Clothes Line" pulleys, and 4 bungee cords and made a simple pulling system that would not wear out your string, or allow the cables to twist together. I was also able to pull a bundle of 10 to 20 cables by myself all the way down the tray. Works GREAT! We also left if installed after the job, for any future “Adds†since the cost is very minimal, maybe $7.50 -$10.00. :thumb: Here is an example: Tie each pull to one of the leaders, and rotate the Clothes Line to pull down the tray. Each new pull ends up on top of all other cables, preventing the cable to coil or the string from getting to hard to pull. We attached the bungees to the building iron or rafter system. You need to have enough room above the tray, but we have used this with a min. of 8" clearence.

Kirk,
I've used CAT32 J-Hook pulleys and done similar, but never with the closed-loop "clothes-line" set-up. Thanks for the idea!
