I am moving a Medley system and during the moved we discovered there was a DSS 48 unit. However, none of the documentation we have show anything about this unit. It is programmed and was working, but we do not know what port, or pairs this unit needs to be connected to. I don't believe this is programmed as an extension, at least according to the paperwork. Also, the hard drive in this unit is very noisy and appears in may be near failure. Is it possible to have this drive copied or cloned so as to replace the drive without having to reprogram the whole thing? Thanks in advance!

I do not have document with me, but the DSS only worked on software level 6.7 and above. I will look tonight for DSS install procedures. I have heard of people duplicting harddrive for that purpose, but have never done myself. ESI manufactured and designed the system for Executone. https://www.esi-estech.com/about.html Good Luck!! I looked last night and the programming documentation said EXT 111 was labeled as COPY and the day and night ring was to EXT 100 which this DSS 48 unit is tied to. I wasn't sure if COPY meant the copy room or a copy of EXT 100. I tried connecting the DSS 48 to this extention 111, but nothing worked. The unit was in service and working before we move the phone system to another building. So I am sure there is no issues there. I just need to know how this thing is supposed to be wired. Thanks again.

jjdad,
I found the info for programming DSS, but you need to put your email address in your profile so I can email info to you.
Thanks, JJ

NOISEY HARD DRIVE ON THE MEDLEY IS USUALLY JUST A NOISEY FAN. CHECK THAT BEFORE REPLACING THE UNIT. <font face="Verdana, Arial" size="2">Originally posted by jjdad: I am moving a Medley system and during the moved we discovered there was a DSS 48 unit.
