Looks like it would be a good addition to your fishing gear. Price seems reasonable.

I notice the video is showing it being used on uninsulated walls

I think the magnapull would be a better product for insulated walls with the flex leader on the inside wall magnet

Careful with those things, but I'm sure you know.

I use rare earth magnets all the time, they're cheap, come in a huge variety, easy to find on the internet and really strong magnetically. Tape them to poles and catch a bolt on a string, fish through a hollow wall, magnet on both sides for insulated walls, stuff like that. Just keep them far, far away from a computer or any hard drive (disaster potential is inversely proportional to the square of the distance between the magnet and the magnetically challenged device). Zapping a customer's voice mail or file server would be bad.

Alternately, good for erasing hard drives.

Looks good Anthony, though I'm with catfish: a speaker magnet hot glued inside a clear Tupperware container, a drop chain, and heat shrinked all thread leader (goes to a coax patch cord) work for me. All in one container as well.

The question is more important than the answer.

Jack, can you post a picture of that contraption? That sounds very interesting.

I've never used them, so would like to know the advantage. Fished a lot of walls, open chain or weighted string, insulated fish tape.

a lot of walls here around here are insulted and with drop ceilings ac vents ,file cabinets etc etc etc ... its not always a direct shot down from the top plate to where you would like the jack

with the magna pull I am able to quickly direct the pull string anywhere within the stud bay

its just one more "trick "in the bag (or truck ) to get the job done quickly and professorially and to make difficult pulls easy

it might sit in the truck unused 6 weeks but when its needed its really nice to have
