well the magnetic mouse came today, for non insulated walls it looks like it will work great, it comes with two different adapters one magnetized two are not. They say you can pull threw insulation with the magnetized one, I am not sure if it will be strong enough. the magnapull definitely has a stronger pull. All in all I think it will come in handy.

I like the flex leader on the magna pull that lets you put the in wall magnet in the pocket between the drywall and the insulation
you could rig something to the magnet on yours

Well after using this a few times I lost a magnet in the wall, which I would expect to happen from time to time. What I did not expect was that when I contacted the company I was told that they did not sell replacement magnets!!! So basically I am stuck with a useless tool. I am sure I could rig something up, but why should I have to. So for anyone that was considering this as an option I would say don't do it. Just pick up a magnapull. At least you can replace lost parts!!

I actually already have one skip..I bought the one that can be screwed to a glow rod. It's a nice little set up. The answer I basically got when I told them I would just pick up a magnapull was I could buy three of his products before I buy one magna pull. And the chances of losing a line in the wall is slim. Go figure

I was an early adopter of the magnapull. Lost my leader magnet in my very first attempt.
Magnapull CLAIMS you can use it in metal-stud walls. After my experience, I heartily disagree. Once that strong leader magnet hits a metal stud, it's s-t-u-c-k!
I'm still waiting for that 1/2" diameter, remote-controlled robot that can pull, drill, screw and do the Macarena.

I almost lost my magna pull leader to a metal stud , fortunately it was a job I had a key to and I went back on Saturday and got it free
I now use a piece of 3/16 nylon line on the magnet that I pull first , then I use it to pull the cable that way if the leader gets stuck I have a strong lead to pull it free
