Ken, I'm using a fill chart from a manufacturer's web site. With the type and quantity of cables I'm using, I've determined that a 1" conduit will work. I have previously used a 4 square box with 1" knockouts for another project years ago. A Raco #259 box is deep and has 1" ko's.

Not sure of the exact price difference between that and any other similar size, but it wasn't too bad. And it's available from Graybar and other suppliers.

All Ken's saying is there is a BICSI standard for that.

Yes, and the BICSI requirement for bend radius dictates the size of not only the conduit (fill rate) and the box (fill rate) and the bend ratio (of the conduit) and the area inside the box to make the bend ratio of the cabling (as well as the fill rating ) of the box. Complicated? No, not if you have the BICSI charts.......

Thanks for the reply Sam.

Juno: same here, but the OP is installing 6a, UTP I presume, which has a much larger OD than cat5 or 6.

That's a great link Jeff. There's also this one from Superior Essex re: fill rates:

The chart is on page 82.

The question is more important than the answer.
