Local supplier quoted me a price and would not except it for what they wanted. So, looking for a supplier that sells paint in the Washington state area or, something that is half the cost up here in bc.
Paint is for backboards.

Why pay for fire retardant paint? There's no need to accept high prices for that. Just buy fire retardant plywood and paint it with anything you like. As long as you leave a patch exposed where the plywood's certification stamp is visible for the inspector, you will be fine. It is much cheaper (and easier).

The last time I price checked it, it was about $85 a gallon! How did that compare?

you can buy fire retardant paint additive
https://www.google.com/search?q=fire+retardent+paiint+additive&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a
like ed said though the plywood isn't that much one problem is the last sheet I bought only had one band of stamp so the 3'by 3' (customer spec ) that i used had the stamp and the rest of the sheet while fire retardant has no stamp

Carl,
Everything here in Vancouver region is priced high. A gallon of paint cost 160.00. I was at nedco, and a little bag maybe 50 zip-tie blocks cost 90 dollars.Sales agent said it would make more sense to buy them from home depot.
The cost of cat5 beldon box, 170 dollars?
Anyway, The idea of fire resistant plywood is a good idea but never heard of any. I will call around and see if such plywood exist.

I meant to say a gallon of fire resistant paint cost $145.00. This was at a specialized paint chain store.

beldon wire is the same price here in Calgary and I noticed ty-wraps at the dollar store real cheap for a 100... I usually shop around for a role of velcro get that at walmart cheap,
since BC supplies most of North America with plywood shop around for flame resistant plywood. The biggest plywood factory in the world is in Victoria you should be able to find something local
