I just purchased a "refurbished" IDS 84 having never worked with one before. I hooked up two phones ... the first one "works" in that it comes up with the "ISOETEC COMM INC" on the screen.
The second one constantly recycles, displaying the message briefly then going to all 8s (888888888) and then starting over.
HELP! I have to have this thing running yesterday as i've been fighting with it for about a week.
I managed to get the PC communicating and can login and it appears, from what I've read here, to be reset to factory defaults.
I believe I've setup the external lines (10 of them).
I'm running V42/84-v4.0.2

Well, that dragon's slayed! Not sure what I did though - I just started over, although I can't see anything I did differently. Oh well, the objective is for the thing to work and it appears to do that, so I'll just be fat dumb and happy! ![[Linked Image from sundance-communications.com]](https://www.sundance-communications.com/forum/smile.gif)

This has happened to me before. It was the AMP cable not plugged in securly to the 4x8 card.
Glad you got it fixed!
If all else fails, use a BFH.
