I need someone to come to DFW, Texas to install 36 fiber ends on Fiber that I will run. 24 will be SC connectors 3M 6300 HotMelts and 12 will be ST connectors 3M 6100 HotMelts. If you can do the job, let me know. Looking to have ends put on Nov 3rd or 4th. Will also require you to test with OTDR (provided by me).

Too bad I am in Los Angeles. I still have my 3M Hot Melt kit, oven, and lots of different polishing paper. I use mostly Siecor Unicam these days. Good luck and I am sure there is someone who can do Hot Melt in Dallas.

did you ever try to go through an airport with telecom tools? Everyone thinks you're going to blow something up. I have done a lot of work for "Duty-Free Shopping" at LAX. It was an epic adventure trying to go through security, but I had a guy with me that had an LAX badge on. I can't believe no one in Dallas does fiber. Are you locked in to 3M Hot Melt for the terminations? Is it all multimode? is it 62.5/125 or 50/125?

Yea, locked in, work is being done for 3M, so it is a use this made by us. Yea, I know what you mean by the airport too, taken a few trips to do work. Always a pain. It looks like I found a guy in Texas with the HotMelt kit, able to do it for less than an arm and a leg (and most of my thigh too).

DnR, please keep me posted about this, the time and material charges, and the person's skill level. I am very curious. Testing should ideally be with two people. I would first do a test for power with a light source and power meter, and then use the OTDR. What are the distances involved and pair counts of the fiber?

Job is completed. Finnally. Tho I hope I never have to do the 3M Hotmelts again, tho they said they were expanding again in 2010. Lucky me.

The cost to hotmelt compared to unicam was double or more, and the test results were no better than with unicam.
