I have an Executone IDS 42 system with 5 17-key phones. At present we have a phone company answering service.
I want to add voicemail but a local vendor told me that it can't be done because nobody supports the software needed anymore (since Executone went bankrupt and was bought out). Is this true? If so, what options do I have, other than buying a new system?
If I have to buy new system: He sells Vodavi - are they any good? Toshiba? Any suggestions? I have simple needs!
Thanks for any help.

Executone didn't go bankrupt but they were bought out by Inter-Tel. I'm not sure if there is any support left for software downloads.Maybe JJ will chip in if he knows of anyone doing it still. If you're really stuck email me.

You need a power supply and two ATA (analoge terminal adapters. You also need a VX2 or VX3 voicemail. Your software will need the download of VMS added to it. Conact https://www.aablecommunication.com/ They do all the repairs for Intertel. Good Luck!!
If all else fails, use a BFH.
