This IVX 128 works fine except for delayed line ringing. Audible ringing is delayed 2 rings from the visual ringing.

Incoming calls show visual ringing immediately and this corresponds to the caller's first audible ring. But the set's 1st audible ringing is on the set's 3rd visual ring.

So the receptionist has only two rings to pick up the call before the four-ring vm grabs it.

PC download shows the CO line ringing table (Ring 1, 3, 5) is properly filled out, with sets on Ring 1.

Also, when audible ringing does start, the ringing pattern properly follows the ringing table, but it starts counting rings not from the first visual ring (which is the callers first audible ring) but from the callers 3rd audible ring/first local audible ring.

Is there some setting I have overlooked?

Thanks

If you have caller id enabled the system will absorb a ring or so to obtain the caller id info.

If CID is enabled in the system, it should still begin counting rings on your first audible ring, not the caller's. Maybe this is old software? The fact that it starts counting rings on the first visual makes me think there's a bug, which makes me wonder what version of software you're running.

Thanks.
The software is
IVX-2, Ver 3.1.0 (1)
Disk ver 1.11 (8/27/1997)
Flash ver 1.17 Ram 4 meg.

I have the entire config download, if that would help.

Your thoughts on this are much appreciated.

Thanks, guys.

Yes, CID disable cleared the two-ring delay.

Why absorb two rings? The CID info displays when its available on other systems. But, as you suggest, this may be less than perfect software.

Thanks again.

I'm guessing that your system is actually a IVX 128 PLUS, because the IVX 128 system software revisions stopped at 1.15.0 (11.15.0 for systems manufactured prior to January 2002).

If your not using the ELRNC (Esi-Link Remote Network Card) then you may just want to switch back to 2.15.0 (22.15.0). Because you're already running 3.1.0, you could try installing the 3.4.1 software without doing an initialization and see if that makes a difference when using the CID.

The system really should give you more like 3 rings if you've set ring 1/3 to ring a station. Perhaps it has something to do with how the line provider delivers CID...
