We had an IVX-E (generation II) system installed in our office several months ago. We also had a Polycom SoundStation2 conference phone prior to the new system that we were assured would work properly. Well, it turns out something changed with the new phone system and the new Polycom model because, in fact, they don't work together. Something about the Polycom's flash button being a flash-pause so now we can't do a double-flash to set up a conference call.

Has anyone had experience getting a Polycom SoundStation2 phone working with an IVX-E? I'm looking for any solutions here: we need an older Polycom, some way to reprogram the current one, or what?

Have you tried matching the Polycom flash hook timer with ESI. Their is a document from polycom with the process of changing the timer.
It can be done.

Yes, but the timer can't be removed altogether-- when we changed that it just makes it so you have to press the second flash at EXACTLY the right nanosecond... Hardly a workable solution. At this point we're going to sell the Polycom and just find another solution.

The problem here is that the IVX cannot create a conference call with an analog station. I usually create the conference with a digital set and then conference in the analog ext. last.

Cheesey way to do it but its your only option with the IVX.

i ran into this and talked to polycom and to esi. the problem is that to start a conf. call on a slt you do flash, flash. the polycom does not allow you to in the time that is needed, sooo sound station 1 works fine. esi nows about the problem and told me polycom does not want to work on it!

Talked with ESI tech support, Polycom just released a fix on how to prog. the flash fuction. Was told it should work with all Polycom models, and all ESI Systems.

Don't have any info. though.
