When the out dialling ID is set, the system dials the number but never makes a connection. Do you have any suggestion on how the dial pattern could be wrong or the system setup?

It depends on what type of outdial transfer it is doing. The two choices are line to line and Centrex. If it's doing a Centrex transfer, you first need to know whether you subscribe to this type of service from your phone company. Second, if using Centrex, the phone system flash timer needs to be set somewhere around 600 or 700 ms. Third, you would need to program a Flash into the dialing string (shows on lcd as "F"). This would go ahead of the number. Do you have contact with your installation company? They could probably help you get this setup, tested, and working properly. ------------------ | Signal Communication Systems - Fresno, CA | | Telephone Systems, Voicemail Syste... & Data Cabling - Central Valley, CA

I don't have a contact for the installer. Although I do believe the out dial transfer is line to line. I have tried sending a flash or delay but unable to access a line.

I want to say that the older IVX systems wouldn't do line to line. Do you know which IVX you have? How long ago was it installed? It seems unusual to not have a contact for the installer. A phone system is quite an investment to not be able to contact the company who sold it and installed it. ------------------ | Signal Communication Systems - Fresno, CA | | Telephone Systems, Voicemail Syste... & Data Cabling - Central Valley, CA [This message has been edited by 5years&counting (edited July 27, 2005).]

This phone system was purchased not from a reseller but from a guy who was using it for his business by this small law firm. The system is an IVX128 with an expansioin cabinet with two 684 port cards. I have done some computer work for one of the lawyers and was brought in on this project late after the guy who sold them the system could not complete the installation job. I'm in the process of programing the system and have completed the job up until trying to activate call forwarding through the ID branch. Also seeing if you can retrieve caller ID information from the phone system outside of a message being left in the voice mail box.

The old IVX 128 can only transfer off site with Centrex lines. The Centrex lines would also have the transfer feature on them for this to work as stated in a previous post.
The IVX 128+ was the only system at that time that had the ability to perform a trunk to trunk transfer. The 128 can be upgraded to a 128+ if this becomes an issue.
CID should show up on the diplay of the telephone during message play back.
Hope this sheds some light on things for ya!
