I have a new ESI E-class system. The installer left me with some programming instructions to chnage some settings on the system such as caller ID. He is out of town until next week and the password is not working. Is there a default Installer Prog. password that I can try? I would like to take care of this before the weekend.

Put yourself in our shoes. You don't have a profile filled out, and out of the blue you request the installer's password for a phone system. How do we know who we are giving this somewhat proprietary information to? Even if someone offered to dial in and get your admin password back to default, I would hope they would require a signed letter on company letterhead, to at least help try and authenticate who's making the request. Sorry for being so blunt, but I would think you would want the same courtesy paid you to prevent unauthorized users from hacking into your system.

I understand. I will wait for my installer to return.

I very much dislike how little of the system functions seem to be available to me as the administrator. Does the Admin software give me access to more than just greetings and system prompts?

As Admin you have access to items set aside for admin, but many items, like on any system require an installer (and password) to program. It is a safety feature, Not all need to know the admin password, and even fewer need the installer password. If you can contact your installer, he should be able to reset the password for you, or have another of his techs re set it.
