I know that on a S-Class Gen-1, there is no way I have seen (or ESI confirmed) to use ESI-Access or otherwise log CID info.
Other than conecting a separate CID box for each CO line before ESI unit, has anyone figured out how to record CID info for all incomming calls (per telco CID info) even if no message - and record /log the info?
Thank You.

NOTE: Edited 11/17. Mistakenly wrote "C-class", changed to "S-Class" Sorry.

I don't know how to do this either. I have had several requests for it myself. The CID box may be the only way. Seems kinda tacky tho...........

I can't vouch for the C-class gen I. But the smdr of the other systems prints the CID info in the call records.

Also, ESI is offering a buy-back/trade-in on the original IVX.

Tech support mentioned that some people have been accessing (hacking)the C classes by using one of the other systems types. Im not sure wich one but you can try some.

Also try using terminal software like ProComm or Hyper Terminal.

I meant S-CLASS. Does this make any difference?
Sydeshow, the hacking thing is beyond my current abilities. I guess this would require an auxilliary Gen II system or better?

Regarding terminal software, do you know that to be compatible with a Gen-I? The ESI software (VIP) does not work with Gen-I S-Class, but it does support S-Class Gen-II.

The only thing you can do instead of the CID boxes is upgrade to Gen 2, add NSP, and add seat licensing from incruments of 2,5, to unlimited. Remember each user of VIP must have a 48 button set. At least get a quote on it from ESI.

Depending on the type of business, this might actually go well. Remember to let your customer know that VIP logs all incomming, outgoing calls, and you have the ability to save messages/recordings as wav files. Play back from your PC or email around.
