I just put one in with an E-class FS2 and it works great. I plan to sell several more very soon.
One Caveat on the install though - make sure that the administrator receives the e-mail logs from failed faxes. A fax server has an inherent flaw: since it is a 2 part process to receive a fax and convert it to e-mail, the fax sender may have no idea that the transmission has failed and may in fact receive a report that it went through, when there was in fact no e-mail received.

We have one here at the office, and it works as advertised. We honestly don't use it a lot but when needed it performs great.

I keep hearing the fax server solution brought up in conjunction with the newer IVX's, but I've never seen any documentation, brochures, marketing items, or anything mentioning this. Is there something out there that I could look at? Both the sales/marketing material and technical docs would be nice, if they exist. Just point me in the right direction.
Thanks!

The functionality added to the IVX to support the fax server is really just the DID to DTMF conversion. So from ESI's point of view It's not a solution they are offering, just support for a solution. Multitech is the one I've been selling, but there are others on the market. Multitech has data sheets and brochures on their website. See https://www.multitech.com/PRODUCTS/Families/FaxFinder/

Yeah...we have evaluated the Multitech unit just last week and it is a good solution for the small users. They make various port models and the unit is very easy to install and use; however, it is limiting on certain functions that larger companies will want. For instance, there is no archive capability. The tech support from Multitech suggest that you off-load the faxes from a general mailbox to a folder on the LAN for your archieving. Most fax servers will have redundant folders for sent, received and pending faxes. Not being able to archieve is a huge flaw that scares fax intensive clients. Also, check on the DID/DNIS routing. There was some confusion on the need for the DID version verses the analog version (does anyone still order analog DID?). Before you jump into the faxing make certain that you understand your clients needs so you don't get stuck installing a GFI, RightFax or some other PC based system. By the way, the intergration to the IVX with the single line ports as "SERVER" works awesome! I have a 20 port fax server just screaming out faxes for a insurance company and they could not be without it.

Yea, the Faxfinder has the capability of 8 ports and is really for small & medium businesses. Even some large businesses wouldn't need an 8-port unit unless they are fax broadcasting 10,000 faxes a week.
