I have an ids 42 which I can not get to go into program mode. It was mothballed for over two years. I can get my wyse 50 emulation to connect, but no other software.
u41 and u42 chips are labeled as 8.0.1

What are you getting an operator screen? If that's what you have then press Ctrl-P to access the programming mode. This may be defaulted to the serial port being an operator screen. This can be changed on the B screen under operator where the operator is assigned a port.Just go to that and remove itby pressing N I think and it will become a programming port.
