We have 3 Communication Server installs in the last 3 weeks that have button programming issues. They are all latest software including System Programmer. The symptom is that say if button 1 is dept 280, button 2 dept 281 and I press button 1 it lights (red flashing) button 2. The proper members are called but the button flashing is wrong.
It can be fixed by manually reprogramming the button at the phone but it then goes bad again. I think at the next upload. Tech assistance admits the System Programmer button programming is imperfect.
Of course the guy I got never heard of it.
Anyone have a fix?

Are you running the latest version of System Programmer? Version 1.1.9 had some button programming fixes, it might be related.

We had the exact same problem on an esi200. I don't know if it got fixed though.

At this point they sent a trace to engineering. I'll just program from phones until further notice.
Thanks anyway

I remember issues with ESI-Access a few versions back that didn't maintain the correct data for button programming, so of course I had to resort to manual programming. Tech said that the data is stored/used in the system in one location, but read for download from another, and they didn't jive. But I think the issue had been fixed, I was one of the first to really notice and have a problem with it, because I refuse to sit on a phone punching buttons to spell names and such, so ESI-Access was critical for me, and really sold us on the system in the first place. (used to have a panasonic)
