Hey everyone,
Our company basically deals with Mitel..and Mitel only. We have an ESI IVX 128 plus system here in the office. For couple week period now, we are experiencing some issues. Dropped calls, displays going out, phones locking up from time to time, lines locking out and becoming busy, and the craziest part is when some lights on the phones just light up by themselves and then go away.
I had spoken to one guy and he said he thought it was the hard drive failing. I am having a hard time buying into that since the displays and what have you are not associated with the drive itself. Does anyone have any ideas? Would be greatly appreciated.

Thats what it does sound like, is the system in a cool location, well vented. You might take the cover off and get some air to it, I would say the hard drive if about on its last leg

I don't think there is much associated with the 128 that doesn't involve the hard drive.
You better get a new hard drive on hand and be ready to swap it out. It would be a good idea to back up the programming but don't do it till you have another hard drive on hand. That might be the straw that breaks the Camel's back.

Hey Grider can that one not go to the compact flash, I swapped a dead hard drive once with a compact flash but I can't remember which system it was. It had the same problems as described

Yes, 99% sure ESI has a compact flash retro fit for the 128 plus. I think Phonesol has installed a few of them.

Who me? Yes, the replacement part from ESI is now a compact flash, which is obviously much better.

Great sounds good you guys are much help! Can you lead me in the direction for the "retro fit" compact flash...this would be more ideal since there would be less moving parts..

For the cool location comment, yes, our office is in a basement of the building and is pretty cool...i did notice after keeping the cover off the problems seem to be less frequent..

You will need to have an ESI dealer to get the compact flash

These Guys are darn good. There is a guy named Jim you might have to remind who you are. I wouldn't put it off very long.
