I have installed an older IVX Classic original

I have tried to use port 191 as a paging port but cannot seem to get it to work thru the paging adapter which also has music running thur it as well. I also tried using a CO port to access an all PAGE ( external)

An Audio guru's have any suggestions!!

The paging adapter is an Avaya ( used on previous avaya system) Do I need a different paging adapter. I in put port used an rj45 connector
tried to hook sta 191 to it...still could not get it to work. When I put my toner on the output of the adapter, you could hear it thru the speakers.

Any help would be appreciated.

You might want to try intercom 199 external page. I think that Avaya page pack is proprietary to Avaya.

On a different note. How many speakers are in the loop and are they 8 ohm or 70v?

On the original IVX there was no 199, 191 is a analog that can be set as a phone, modem, page. There was no page port like the newer ESI's

Your right Steve, we have one at a roofing company and have the analog port set to page. We also have 2 Valcom 5 watt horns with a V324 power supply. I think CK is correct that the Avaya is proprietary.

Hope this helps Norm

Sorry on the last post we have a V2001A power supply that will allow music and paging.

Good Luck Norm
