OK....I must be missing something. Had some issues with the 3 letter name key in a smaller office and moving back to 1 key based on last name. How do I get them in the right order? I removed the 3 names under one letter and recorded them again in order and now it comes out 3 1 2 instead of 1 2 3. Tried to delete one from the middle and put it back in and no matter what I try it still comes out in the wrong order.
Oh yeah....ESI-600 Communication Server
Thanks for the help:) Dean

Please wait for others to confirm this but I suspect the 312 order to be alphabetical and it won't matter which order they are recorded in.

If you have the directory set for ' alpha ' then it will say the names back alphabeticly,
If you have it set for ' names ' then it will play back in the order You recorded them in.

OK seems to be playing the names in order if I delete and then re-record once I change the station name, but Guest boxes stack to the front of the list. It will say those in order to and then go to the physical extensions and announce them in order.
Standard behavior?

Has 'number exchange' been done?
For example, are the guest mb's lower in the ext range?
Just thinking out loud...

Not in this instance. All of the Guests are in the 3000 range and all extensions are in the 2000 range.

Nope, just moved onto other telecom and computer issues in my life. It stopped at annoyance level not major issue and I don't feel like deleting and re-recording all entries yet again:)

I once had the same issue on same system, In the past before communication servers the order you recorded in was the order it played (didn't matter what the extension number or name was) that was nice, I resolved it the same way as trees by letting it go but this is now one more thing to consider in planning out a system.
