Well here is the final outcome of this venture.
I have the caller ID working. The following is what I now know.
1) Eclipse 3.0.0 on 228 system 2) CID unit (MLX-82) would not transmit data when directly wired to PBX. Had to use a ground isolation device. Apparently due to a design issue with the MLX-82. NOTE: This is an older MLX-82 (identified by the 5 pin DIN connector on the power supply). Newer units may not have this problem. 3- CID is displayed with both name and number when a call rings in to system. CID info remains with call as it is transfered throughout the system by user or autoattend in VMS.
