Interesting, I heard it was coming. Is there a SIP interface card too or is it something they did through software release and the onboard ethernet port?

There is a new "Application Services Card" that supports both SIP trunking (by adding licensing) and the new "Mobile Messaging". It uses a regular card slot and works in both the ESI 50 as well as the other Comm servers (noth the ESI50L though). The ASC card adds a lot of processing horsepower, and will allow for additional memory and future applications.

not sure if it will be done via a new card or thru software with the NSP RJ45.....just read about it.
it will allow ESI customers to at least try or experiment with SIP trunks.....

Mobile Messaging is the ability (long time coming ESI!) to attach a WAV file to an email and send it to an email address or a smartphone (cell). Oh, and you'll need the one of the SIP or new Application Services Card to use it...
The issue with ESI and the other TDM manufacturers adding SIP and other IP based "bolt on" functionality to their product lines is that it $$$ you to death. Licensing costs, card costs

when ESI gets this ASC card up & running, I like the option of having a system for smb set up with SIP trunks but still have single pair 66block digital connections within the office.
I guess you could always order a seperate broadband connection to handle the SIP trunks, that way the ESI system would technically use IP trunks but be totally isolated from the customers PC LAN/WAN.
