Has anyone been through the master tech training? Is it worth the time and expense? There's a class in LA at the end of September, I was thinking of attending.

The lead tech at the ESI dealer I worked for was one of the first to be certified. If you are serious about selling ESI products, especially anything larger than a 50 or a 100, take the training.... You'll learn alot about the things that other tech's call ESI support to accomplish.

I just came back from Texas last week, yes, I'm Now a Master Tech! I wuld have liked to have access to More of the commands, there are about 50 or so of them, the master tech only gets access to about 20 of them....BUT, they do look like it's something that could help in troubleshooting some of the normal things thst you would have to call tech support for.

I was in the second class offered. If you learn to read the debug logs, you can often see the difference between bugs or just user issues without waiting for the PA lab to give you those results.

The logs can be time consuming to read but the added capabilities have been well worth it for me.

The only downside is that I've occasionally found myself pulling debug without stopping to think about swapping a defective phone...

I was in the first class offered (Where I met the individual who works with Jim).

I would take the course. I picked up a lot from it.

I'm going to add another 2 cents, it has been very helpful in troubleshooting some esi-link issues.

Master Tech Training is definitely worth taking. It allowed me to solve open tickets I had before I even completed the class and has been a huge help several times a week since.

I do however agree with Paul. It can sometimes detract you from a simple issue.

I too took the Master Tech Training and there was a follow up online webinar that added to what we learned in class that will help on Com Servers running certain Revision level or higher.
Take the class, it helps to eliminate tech calls on the Comm Server Product Line. Oh yes, being a Master Tech will not help you on the previous lines such as C, E, or X Class systems only the Com Servers.
But like the other Gentlemen stated it is worth it.
