I need to get a pc based color mointor working on an IDS, It was working until the cust. decided to unplug it to clean her desk. The disk is in and dongle installed, it is using the oper. kit for the comport, which is 6 on the port status. Went into data menu and tried to disconnect and reconnect the ports, NG. What is the sequence for connecting the data ports? oper. is system port 1 data port is 48 Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks Rick ------------------ Komon Communications Inc. What does it say that it has lost communications with the IDS? I have that happen whenever my customer disconnects the power and the only way to get it back is to uninstall the port from the operator and the then turn the i/o port installed to No.Then set the i/o port back to installed Yes and reassign it to the operator.

You can use any PC, as long as floppy disk has all the files on it and dongle is in place.
You should be able to reset system and it will reconnect com port. Test comport with your laptop.
Good Luck!
If all else fails, use a BFH.

Tried all above, but no good. This is a DCM comport, #6 on the port settings, connected to ext via oper. sta. which is port #1. Then somehow linked to port #48. Tried turning port to no and back to yes, reset the system, changed PC , not working?
The Data screen U has a disconnect, and reconnect setting, that is not letting me do either? I am going back tomorrow to try again , any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks Again
Rick

Goto the "B" screen and setup I/O port that you are using to Installed "Y" and the data port it is "001". Also goto "T"creen and setup that port baud rate and info.
Good Luck!!
The EDCM ports are also programmed with the hardware port number of the display telephone (or digital data interface) that the device is connected to.
When programming the ports provided by the EDCM, enter all information for the port, such as baud rate, parity, and printer information, BEFORE entering the hard-ware port number. If ports 5–8 are to be used for an Integrated Operator, the port assignment must be programmed in the Operator area before any programming in the I/O port area.
The Data Prt field appears on the screen if ports 5 through 10 are selected. Enter the data (hardware) port of the display phone or DDI connected to the device which accesses this data port. For example, if an Integrated terminal is connected to a display phone whose ex-tension number is 3025 and is connected to hardware port 15 and this terminal is to use I/O port 6, enter 015 in the Data Prt field of I/O port 6.
If all else fails, use a BFH.

Found out that comport 48 was occupied by a DDI in a different part of the building , was not even being used, for some reason the operator port was linked to it , posible the customer tried prog. prior to my arrival, made the operator EDCM comport 1 & 7 Came right up. Thanks for all the help. Rick ------------------ Komon Communications Inc. Business Communication Systems and Service
