I'm curious, I've been attempting to setup external call forwarding on the 128 and I cant seem to get any info as to whether or not its even possible.

Any ideas?

What exactly are you looking to do? There are a couple of ways to do it with the new systems based on what type of call you are trying to forward.

I am not familiar with the older systems but for the most part the programming is similar.

Doubld you will need to set up external call forwarding. This is possible if Trunk-to-Trunk transfer is enabled under extension programming.

If you have the 128 Plus and you have trunk to trunk transfer enabled for your station you can setup the off premise reach me under function 62. You'll need to use personal greeting 2 and let the caller know to press 4 if they would like to reach your cell phone. This gives the caller the option of leaving a voicemail message or transfering to a pre determined number. I do not believe the regular 128 can do this.

You can setup a outdial mailbox and forward your calls to that mailbox. If you have the means to do a hook flash, then you can flash transfer off of the outdial box and free up the co for another call. If not, then you have to use the outdial as a trunk to trunk and you will have a line loss issue with the caller. You can adjust the co to co gain, but it only helps a bit. This has always been a problem with the ESI. The newer CS series addressed this and it is so much better! Keep in mind that once your call forward to the box, every co call to your station will follow forwarding (24-7).
