I have ESI 100 and. cards are..
slot 1 DLC12 Pri
slot 2 D12
slot 3 IVC 12R12EL
slot 4 6-8-4 card

When i hit redial it does nothing.
I want to be able to fix redial which i asume needs 9 outgoing, but i want to force to start at at a particular line. and not on last line.
i probably need to group trunks.. ?? Need help

i am an installer and esi dealer, faster to get help here then with ESI tech support..lol

What line group is are your PRI channels in ? You may need to call tech support ,because I can't think of anything that would stop redial from working.

Had a similar problem, I was told to move the DLC port card out of the first slot. Then we set up line groups and it is working. I am not sure of the software you are using but we had to load the newest and it defaulted the system - hate that - but it did work.

Redial should pick the highest numbered line the extension has access to to regardless of the group.

Are you sure it does nothing? Is there dial tone on the trunks in group 8? if not, set them as incoming only. I usually don't see pri's broken in to two groups (thats why I'm asking). I've got lots of systems with less than 23 channels used on a pri, starting at line 1 in card slot one. I'v never had a problem when setting the unused trunks as incoming only.

analog. Group 9 is my Pri out dial.. why does esi-dex key uses out dial 8 and not 9. any way around this..

ESI Dex doesn't use "8" it uses the highest line that is setup for outgoing , I tested it at my office . I have my fax line in group 8 , I removed it from 8 and tried dialing using ESI Dex and it grabbed the first line in group 9

I did discover It will not use lines that are in group 71

On a couple extensions i have outdial group 8 and 9. its only on those phones, that ESI DEX calls out on line group 8, those phones are the only ones that can access co 24 out dial 8.
And to answer your test in your office. your fax line was it part of your hunt group, or seperate and remember what cards i have. look up top of page.. i have a feeling because the pri is first and then the 6-8-4 card is on the last slot..

it doesn't matter if the line group is 9,8, 71, 72.....
As stated earlier, redial will use the highest numbered trunk that he extension has rights to. It has nothing to do with analog or PRI or line group.
