Just put in a cs50, they have heaps of people that come & go and just have mailboxes 300 thru 488.
If one of these people wants just notification via email, vip will do this for the guest boxes correct?
If they want the full wave file of the vmail emailed to then we are talking the new services card right???
This site has a Cisco Pix router supplied by their ISP Cablevision, they should be able to open up the port for vip to link in ?? anybody had experience with this?
Thanks.

I would suggest Mobile Messaging. Set up the guest MB's and get an unlimited mobile messaging license. That way everyone gets an email with a wave file of the voice message.

No VIP on mail boxes. VIP is only supported with a 48-key phone. simple notifation is your best bet, unless email notification is really needed. Mobile messaging will support 52 phones and 50 guest mail boxes on a CS50. No mobile messaging on the CS50L.

What are the other requirements / restrictions for mobile messaging? - any additonal software? - does it work across all extensions regardless of phones - 12/24/48?

No additional software, no restrictions, and yes it is not phone type restricted.
You will need an asc card which occupies a slot, license also. So in other words your 50 now can only have three other port cards, rather than 4.
mobile messaging works fine now and is pretty solid.
Check to make sure you have the current software version to support it.
