Can you backup all the recorded ID branches and mailboxs and have them as .wav files?

Not thru ESI software Backup...But, You can Backup all the system programming and Recordings, thru Esi system programmer ( which is the Only way I know of to Restore ) Be careful, It takes a Looooonnnng Time to do a backup if there are a Lot of recordings, it will also backup all the individual mailboxs and Guest and Info boxes. I backed up a 600, it saved about 350 or so prompts, Took 3 Hours.
I can see the light at the end of the tunnel..

Yeah I've never done a backup of all prompts, heard it takes a long time as you said. Do you know if those files are backed up as wav files?
The reason I ask is that we have a customer that outgrew us (never thought I'd say that) and are moving on to a Cisco.
This company started in one small suite sharing a IVX 128 with another company. They grew, moved to their own suite in same building and bought the esi200. Soon after they grew, again, and took over more suites on that floor, and again and again, they now occupy most of that floor. I think they now have about 90 digital phones and two PRI's.
They finally got bought out by a worldwide company with offices in atlanta, Vietnam etc... who are all linked together with Cisco switches. And without getting our opinion, the big bosses (not in LA) decided to go with CIsco.
now they want to upload their current recordings onto the Cisco once it gets installed.

Backing up takes a long time and you need to have an idle system. I would let the Cisco people take care of it. You are probably paying for it anyway and don't know it.

We let customer know that it cant be done, we would've gotten paid to do it, this is (or was) a real good client. But if it cant be done it cant be done.

You just need to call into the system and when you hit the prompt press your record key. Then, when you are done, use VIP to save it as a .wav. Take the .wav and play it back as an attachment form your phone direct to the new system. You can manually back up all the custom prompts and export to the LAN to archive. Hell, you can charge a fee to the customer for remote storage of custom prompts/system architecture as a service, or work it into a service agreement....

breeze, that's creative thinking. Sometimes we forget we have all the tools right in front of our noses. I'd like to know- if you've done this- does the voice quality suffer enough for it to be noticeable (by the average caller)?
